ABOUT.

Violette De Laet is a UK-based Production Designer for Film and TV, originally from Belgium.

She has contributed to multiple high-end film productions across the UK and Europe. She recently designed her debut feature film and a sci-fi TV - series. Violette has also designed for several short films, commercials, fashion and music promo’s.

She began her career in Theatre. At just 20, she became an in-house Stage Designer for a Belgian theatre, marking her first experience collaborating with construction teams and visualise and adapt a director’s vision. During this time, Violette was also studying Stage Design at the University of Performative Arts in Maastricht (Netherlands), which opened up opportunities to work on several theatre productions in Germany and Vienna.

Her Passion for Production Design led her to transition to film, where she initially gained experience as a Standby and Set Dresser. In 2018, she was awarded The Harry Wich Stipendium, which enabled her to pursue her MA in Production Design at the National Film and Television School in the UK.
