ABOUT.
Violette De Laet is a Production Designer for Film and TV based in the UK, who started her career in the world of Theatre.
She became an in-house Stage Designer at the age of 20 for a Belgian Theatre. This was her first experience collaborating with construction teams and visualise and adapt a director’s vision. During this time, Violette was studying Stage Design at the University of Performative Arts in Maastricht (The Netherlands) which offered her the opportunity to work on several Theatre productions in Germany and Vienna.
Violette developed a passion for cinema, especially the art of production design, after graduating she worked as a Standy and Set dresser on film productions. Violette was the winner of The Harry Wich Stipendium 2018, which later made it possible for her to follow her passion and lead her to the UK to study her MA in Production Design at the National Film and Television School.
Violette has now worked on multiple high-end film productions in the UK and Europe, and has also designed a number of short films, and TV series.
